In case you were wondering about Russ’ prize and who Forest Ackerman was, here is a brief explanation. Forest started a movie magazine in the late 50s/early 60’s called Famous Monsters. He used to be a huge sci-fi and monster fan, and the movies, once finished, would pass on their many props to Forest to keep. So in the 80s he had a big house in the Hollywood Hills, and once a month he would open it to the public to come see his collection. 009 - Leo Rossi shares his stories while in the road with Fleetwood Mac & The Beach Boys, the famous San Francisco "chicken" story, his first band initiation and so much more!

Rita, Leo Rossi & CW

Rita, Leo Rossi & CW

This episode we are speaking with an amazing philanthropist – Leo Rossi! He started his career as a lighting designer for concerts in Long Beach, California, with Led Zeppelin being one of his first shows. He then went to be a roadie or as he prefers: Road Crew or Tech in the lighting department for such acts as The Who, Fleetwood Mac, Al Jearreua, Bette Midler and the Beach Boys to name just a few.

After all the years in the music business, Leo has now shifted to become a Philanthropist and give back to the world by donating  his time and any profits to the charity: 20Kwatts. A charity that his late son began years ago, and Leo is now carrying the torch for.

Leo gives us some insight to touring with bands like Fleetwood Mac & The Beach Boys. When Leo was star stuck by a very famous guitarist. Plus Leo has story after story of being on the road! This is an amazing show.

Leo’s Bonus Round Prize - A Fleetwood Mac belt buckle?

Show - 008 NAMM - What's there and why are we going?

Rita & CW on day 1 of NAMM

Rita & CW on day 1 of NAMM

In this show, we will be playing quick interviews from many different rock and roll merchants and a few rock stars that were brought in to endorse products We try and give you a tiny taste of what the NAMM convention is, and what goes on inside. NAMM is the National Association of Music Merchants and it the main convention comes together once a year in Anaheim. The point…is for merchants to display their new items and for buyers, musicians and many others to take a look at what is new.

You will notice a lot of the audio is very raw. It’s because we weren’t in our normal “studio”, and during NAMM we have the ambiance of the show room floor. Keep in mind, there are 50,000 thousand people attending, every booth is a demonstration of an instrument. And every instrument makes a noise.

Also, most of these interviews are under 5 minutes, we didn’t stay with our normal programming of asking our guest their confession nor did we ask them Bonus round questions. But many of these guests will be upcoming full length guests and we will get into much more detail of their musical career on a later show.

For more information on NAMM or to join, click here: https://www.namm.org/
